Question from JAMES E T: Where can I get a car for free for really poor relatives?
They had their car repossessed for lack of payment. A single mom with 6 kids whose husband quit his job to not pay child support. I help with clothing and food and I found a company to donate a used computer as 4 are in school and I just don’t know how to get her a free car. I have googled free cars for low income people but no body has one. Anybody have any ideas or know anyone who lives in CT who has an older car in good condition they can donate.

Best answer:

Answer by Toledo Engineer
First, this is completely in the wrong section. which is probably the reason for a lack of answers. I’m guessing the word relative suggested it go into geneology. But it should have been changed over into some form of automotive section.

Second, I doubt you will find any car for free. Unless you are giving up your own car. You could try a police auction, to get a car for really cheap. But dont expect much if you’re not willing to pay a whole lot. Especially the condition of the car and how well it runs. Check with your local law enforcements office or website as they usually post that sort of stuff. And be sure to check police and sheriff, as sometimes both do this.

Answer by D
contact your local churches and ask them

Answer by Alan M
Try a scrapyard. Six children? Why so many?

Answer by monty
Only in America why on earth does someone have so many children and then can not afford to provide for them everything I have had in my life I have paid for myself I have never relied on charity I can hold my head up high and feel proud of myself , I have paid my way and I have two daughters and they both have jobs as well as one in University who is just finishing her degree to become a teacher my other daughter going into the R.A.F so they will be part of the population that pays taxes and their bills not being a leach on the government.

Answer by Nothingusefullearnedinschool
Everywhere I have lived they have these various contests, such as whoever keeps their hand on a car the longest time gets to keep the car; raflles, etc.

I would also suggest contacting family services (or whatever they call it in CT.

Answer by OwnSomeLunch
I think these places: Church, Salvation Army, United Way, Big Brothers and Big Sisters may help you to help them.

Question from surferchick: Are there any legitimate programs that give you a free car wrapped in advertisements?
I’m wondering if they are trustworthy. Please list any personal experience you’ve had with wrapped cars, the requirement, fees, or payments. Is it worth it? I looking for one that will provide a free car with no extra payments and covers gas expenses. Provide any websites or references please and lots of details! Thank you!!!

Best answer:

Answer by talon699
There are several out there , But you must provide a credit card (no one in their right mind will just give you a car without security, You pay your own insurance and yes believe it or not you have to pay your own fuel . AWWWW! Boo Hoo ) Still not a bad deal to get a new vehicle , And they pay the maintenance for the vehicle. Or you can have your own vehicle wrapped and they pay you. But they will not accept junk cars and the rules are still the same . If you are looking for a totally free ride , keep smokin` whatever you have . I drive a new Ford F350 diesel every 2 years and get all sorts of promo items , just by driving a rolling billboard. Try typing “free cars ” and see what you come up with. Otherwise hold your breath and keep dreaming. Oh! and you must be over 25. And you have to pay a $ 30-$ 40 registration fee every 2 years . Have fun.

Answer by Jasony
I have heard of these as well and started looking into it several years ago. That one had some specific rules like keep it clean constantly, and don’t break any traffic laws (e.x. speeding.) They actually put a GPS on there to make sure you aren’t speeding! That was a little too much for me

Answer by Ray L
http://www.freecarteam.com

I know one of my friends gets a free wrapped car from this site, but you have to pay a membership fee here in advance.

Question from Crystal Beth: what was that web site that gives you free car parts for putting their stickers on your car?
You send them a picture of your car, then they send you stickers to put on your car and then they give you free stuff.

Best answer:

Answer by Kenny
That place does not exist.

Answer by Max Cruise
Companies don’t do business that way.
Sponsorships are given for results, not because you are willing to display their advertisements.
Sorry

Answer by シング
where is this happening, in Japan, France, UK, ??????????
what free stuff? like candy, toothbrush….. house.

Answer by glen t
have seen this on tv checked the web site first thing they asked for was a credit line of minimum $ 1000.00 so it is a scam

Answer by Bubbavet
You might be thinking of people who sponsor race cars and trucks. If the car is a proven race winner then sometimes the sponsors will provide products to help the people keep the car running. They might also provide money to help the car owner buy other things for the car. However, the car has to be a proven winner and show that it is capable of creating a positive impression of what the sponsors’ products can do. Most of the high dollar racers could not afford to continue racing without the assistance of the sponsors’ money and products. If you are racing a car and have a particular manufacturer’s stickers on your car and you win the entire race then they will usually award you what is called contingency money which may amount to several hundred or several thousand dollars. Although you may really like a particular manufacturer’s products, usually the most you can hope for is a nice little decal that comes in the box along with the part you just purchased.

Answer by Pirate
Your name is almost like crystal meth.

Question from tyronne b: does anyone know where i can get a free car throgh charity?
i am a fulltime student and work fulltime. my parents passed away about 1 year ago and i am seriously in debt. does anyone know where i can get a free car from charity so i can keep my job and stay in school? all the help would be great. thanks so much

Best answer:

Answer by larmarine83
You can’t afford a car…so you say, yet you have internet access, and you think that you could afford insurance and registration, gas, repairs? unless you plan on not having insurance and not taking care of a vehicle.

Answer by billet7
Never heard of anything like that, sorry.

Answer by Mr. God
Asking for free handouts isnt a good way to get yourself out of a hole. Tons of people work without a car. Especially students in college. Move on campus. and get a job near campus and then ride a bike. Or perhaps get a second job. You seem to have time to mess around online. My 13 year old made over 6 grand last summer mowing lawns. If a 13 year old can figure out how to make that kind of money, surely a college student could.

Answer by LTD
Hmmmm…wishful thinking on your part, dude.
If there really WAS such a thing, don’t you think that others would be talking about it????? Ever noticed how POPULAR buses, taxis, subways, trains and mopeds are????? Would people even need them if there were such a thing?

Answer by Tinderno
I wish you the best of luck and i am sorry to hear about your parents.

It sucks that there are so many liars and thieves out there that when i hear your story i think that you are scamming.

I would think that any “free” car you would be getting would be old/older and there is a problem there in that most cars some one would ‘charity’ out would generally need about 50-250 a month to keep them on the road and that is if its a good car. Plus INS, and gas all of which you are going to need to come up with yourself. I suggest a bicycle, change jobs after letting your manager know your circumstances. Don’t ask for charity though, it is a huge turn off and makes most people apprehensive about helping you, especially employers.

Besides, hand outs have always made me feel bad about myself. I feel way better about my accomplishments when i achieve them on my own, but then again i do not know your circumstances.

Go choice to keep pursuing school though.

Answer by djhpink
cars are expensive so even if someone would give you one( which i doubt) there will be future costs gas, repairs, etc, bus is cheaper

Answer by Thesportspic
Try this site, I have seen them on there before.
www.freecycle.org
It is a yahoo web-ring, you sign up with your email and then you can post: Wanted ads.
Good Luck

Answer by Tara
I have heard of people donating thier cars for charity, and being given to those who can’t afford them. Im sure you will find something. Good luck. : )
